Bob’s education includes a BA in history from King College (Bristol, TN), M. Div. in Theology from Union Seminary (Richmond, VA), MA in sociology from East Tennessee State University (Johnson City, TN), as well as graduate studies at University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN), University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and McCormick Seminary (Chicago, IL).
His work history includes serving as pastor in Presbyterian Churches in Surgoinsville (TN), Church Hill (TN), Knoxville (TN), Greensboro (NC), Eden (NC), Asheboro (NC), and Stokes County (NC). Bob honorably retired in 2002. Since then, he has served as Interim Pastor at Broad Street Christian Church (Martinsville) and Alta Vista Presbyterian Church (Alta Vista, VA).
Bob also has experience serving with alcohol and drug abuse agencies in Tennessee and Martinsville. He has been an instructor at Rockingham Community College and Greensboro College, and a director of a marriage enrichment association. He is also a licensed building contractor.
